Dr. Brownstone became interested in ophthalmology when he studied it as an elective during his third year of medical school. He enjoys the combination of surgery and general medicine, and the look on his patients' faces following LASIK and cataract surgery is the best part of his job. He says it is truly a joy to work with such a talented, dedicated group of doctors and support staff.
Dr. Brownstone is also a trained classical pianist. He performs for fundraisers and church functions and plays chamber music with his family. When he isn't playing music, he is taking photos and videos at his daughter's horseshows in Chicago and St. Louis. He also enjoys SCUBA diving, saltwater aquariums and backpacking in the Sierras.

Dr. Colloton enjoys working to make each patient's experience the best it can be. His primary objectives are to answer patients' questions, calm their fears and to ensure that all of their eyecare needs are met. He enjoys ophthalmology because it is one of the few areas of medicine in which nearly every problem has a solution. From prescribing a child's first pair of glasses to passing the gift of vision through corneal transplant surgery, he considers every procedure a modern miracle. He is also fascinated with gadgetry and applying technology to the field of eye surgery.
Dr. Colloton loves the closeness of the Bloomington-Normal community and the ability to make a difference as part of a small surgical group. He and his wife enjoy the peaceful setting of their home on Lake Bloomington and travel frequently with their adult children. He likes music, concerts, lectures, golf, skiing, diving and generally experiencing what the world has to offer.
