The
VISX STAR S4 Laser
What is LASIK?
The name LASIK is short
for Laser In-situ Keratomileusis. LASIK is a procedure in
which the Excimer (cool beam) laser reshapes the cornea.
Throughout the procedure you are awake but comfortable due
to numbing drops placed in your eye. LASIK is a popular
procedure today because there is a minimal amount of discomfort,
treatment time, and post-operative recovery. Eye Surgical
Associates has chosen the VISX Star S4 Active Trak laser,
a widely used Excimer laser due to its high accuracy, safety
profile, and the fact that pupil dilation is not necessary
during the procedure.
After the procedure you
will be given eye drops to use post-operatively to help
your eyes heal. By the next morning your vision will improve
dramatically. Although your vision may be a little blurry
for a few days, most people are able to return to work within
24-48 hours. In most cases, improvement in vision is noticed
immediately and continues to improve for several weeks.
Millions of people have
benefited from LASIK vision correction. Ask our LASIK Advantage
coordinators for current Eye Surgical Associates LASIK outcomes.
